Missing autistic Wainuiomata man found by police

Missing Wainuiomata man John Witherden has been found by police.

Witherden, who is autistic, disappeared from his home in Hinau Grove sometime between 10.30pm and midnight last night.

The 23-year-old was lightly clad and there were concerns for his safety.

But police said he was safe and well and had been reunited with his family.

Police thanked those who shared information about the missing man on social media, and provided potential sightings.
