Missing Auckland man found in serious condition

A missing Auckland man who was last seen five days ago and suffers a medical condition has been found alive.

Police said William 'Bill' Davies, 74, was found by a member of the public this morning laying down at the North Shore Golf Course on Appleby Rd.

He was assessed by ambulance staff and has been taken to hospital in serious condition.

Police said Mr Davies' sons have been advised and were on their way to the hospital to see their father.

Mr Davies was last seen on Wednesday at his Albany rest home.

He suffers from progressive supranuclear palsy, or PSP - a condition that affects his mobility, balance, and ability to think clearly - and requires daily medication.
