Ministers fish for ideas to help ailing Taupo

Environment Minister Marian Hobbs and Agriculture Minister Jim Sutton will visit Lake Taupo today to discuss ways of halting the decline in water quality.

In July, the Government announced it would form a partnership with Taupo's local and regional councils and Tuwharetoa to help restore the lake's health by reducing the amount of nitrogen entering the water.

The ministers will meet those groups, and forestry and farming representatives, to talk about ways of achieving that goal.
