Minister helps school buy books

Education Minister Trevor Mallard will cough up some of his own cash so a school in his electorate can buy more books. Children at Wainuiomata School have been writing to businesses seeking money to buy extra sets of novels.

The minister, a former pupil of the school, plans to give it a personal donation on his return from overseas.
