Millie Elder tattoos Paul Holmes tribute on her thigh

Millie Elder has tattooed a picture of her late father Paul Holmes on her thigh.

Elder tweeted a picture of the tattoo on her right thigh today, saying "6 hours for you yesterday dad".

The black-and-white portrait shows Holmes at the microphone in his early days of broadcasting, sporting an afro and smoking a cigarette.

It was done by Matt Jordan at Blue Lotus Tattoo in Albany.

Elder also posted a picture of a large tattoo in Gothic script which she says is on her ribs. That tattoo was done at Western Tattoo in New Lynn.

It reads: "Blood makes you related, loyalty makes you family".

Elder is Holmes' adopted daughter from his marriage to Hinemoa Elder, who he separated from following an affair.

She recently opened up about how she overcame her long battle with P addiction.
