Milk tanker, motorcyclist collide in Waikato

A motorcyclist and a milk tanker collided on State Highway 1 in the Waikato overnight.

Police said emergency services were at the scene of the crash immediately north of the Taupiri Bridge at 11:30pm.

The rider of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken to Waikato Hospital, police said.

Diversions were in place at Huntly and Taupiri.
