Milk tanker loses load

Milk from hundreds of Canterbury cows went down the drain today when a leaky milk tanker lost its load on the way to a dairy factory.

Police southern communications confirmed that a milk tanker spill had occurred early this morning on Rangitata Bridge, on the border of Timaru and Ashburton districts.

Police from Ashburton and Geraldine were helping mop up this morning.
