Automotive design students and Hyundai Design Europe have created the Hyundai PassoCorto Concept
A team of design students from Turin's Institute of European Design (IED) have teamed up with Hyundai's European Design Centre to produce the Hyundai PassoCorto Concept, which is to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
The low slung, two seater coupe has been designed by sixteen studentsfrom IED's Masters in Transportation Design, coordinated by Pininfarina Lead Designer, Luca Borgogno.
Much like the Kia GT4 Stinger Concept shown at the Detroit Auto Show in January, the PassoCorto Concept features a compact profile of 1,800 mm wide and 4,100 mm in length. Featuring sharp design cues front and rear and bulging wheel arch flares signal sporting intentions while the overhanging tailight cluster bears a resemblence to the Gran Turismo by Citroen Concept of 2008.
As the first mid engined Hyundai sports car, the PassoCorto is powered by a 1.6-litre bi-turbo four-cylinder engine putting out 199kW. As it is merely a design exercise, Hyundai have no plans to put the PassoCorto into production and a full scale model will be shown along with the companies Intrado SUV concept at Geneva next week.
