Microlight crashes at Tauranga Airport

A microlight has crashed at Tauranga Airport this afternoon.

The aircraft missed the runway and crashed just after 4pm, Fire Service northern communications shift manager Scott Osmond told NZPA.

The pilot managed to get out of the wreckage, he said.
