An unknown amount of jewellery was stolen in an early-morning ram raid of a Michael Hill store in Hamilton.
Brazen thieves drove into the Centre Place Shopping Centre store just after 1.30am today, taking off with jewellery, a police spokesperson said.
A security guard discovered the burglary and called in at 1.36pm. Police arrived a minute later.
Glass littered the ground this morning, which is cordoned off as police and forensic staff investigate.
Police confirmed a vehicle has driven up and through the front doors of the shop and jewellery stolen.
The scene was secured immediately. Police CIB staff are still at the scene.
Michael Hill is the fourth Hamilton business to be targeted by thieves since Saturday, when two dairies and McDonald's Greenwood St were all hit by armed robbers.
It's unknown if this morning's ram raid is connected to the earlier aggravated robberies.
