Mega success for chain's local store

Staff at Masterton's Mega Mitre 10 may have to knock up a new trophy cabinet this weekend - the store has picked up another retail award.

The year-old store won the retail store of the year award for up to 4000sq m of retail showroom area category at the 2012 Hardware Awards, held in Auckland last week.

Earlier this month the store was named best hardware store in the Hardware Journal Awards.

Mitre 10 Mega Masterton director Ejvind Frederiksen said he was happy with the result, which reflected how the store was getting it right for their customers.

"It's a great feeling to know the judges found our store, staff, merchandising and extra facilities at the standard to be named category winner. I would like to thank my hard-working team for their commitment and dedication to the store. This is a great reflection on their customer service and attention to detail," Mr Frederiksen said.

Mitre 10 Mega Masterton, which opened in October last year, is a member of the Mitre 10 co-operative and one of the 33 Mega stores in New Zealand.
