Mechanical makeover

A minor makeover for the Mazda RX-8 has been unveiled in Japan. The facelifted four-door sports will be available in New Zealand later this year.

Most changes are mechanical, including new water and oil pumps for the rotary engine, revised gear ratios for the six-speed manual and extra strengthening in the body structure.

It comes with a body kit and 18-inch forged aluminium wheels. The exterior design features larger air intakes in the front bumper, side marker lamps integrated with the headlight units, and side air vents integrated with the turn indicators.
