Save Christchurch police are on the hunt for two men who held up an Aranui takeaway bar with meat cleavers.
The pair walked into Gin's Takeaways on Hampshire Street, brandishing the weapons around 8.15pm on Saturday night.
One jumped the counter, threatening the family that owns and operates the shop, and
made off with hundreds of dollars.
Constable Paul Wilson says it is believed they left the scene in a silver station wagon.
Both men are described as skinny Europeans - one has a more unique description.
