Mazda launch new supermini

Mazda is to launch a three-door version of its "2" supermini. Aimed mainly at the European market - but potentially also a base for higher-performance Mazda2 models in the future - it comes with the same powertrain line-up as the five-door hatchback.

The three-door Mazda2 shares the same overall dimensions as the five-door and achieves a similar kerb weight, model for model.

The Mazda2 five-door has won more than 20 automotive awards. These include car of the year awards in six European countries.
