Matthew Ridge suing NBR

Sports celebrity Matthew Ridge is suing the publishers of the National Business Review but doesn't want damages - just costs and to have the record put straight.

The former All Black and rugby league star claims the NBR defamed him in an article about his financial affairs published last week.

He has filed proceedings in the High Court at Auckland against Fourth Estate Holdings, publisher of the weekly paper, reporter Jock Anderson and insolvency commentator Bernard Montgomerie.

NBR publisher Barry Colman said last night the NBR had never lost a defamation case in court and he stood by the story.
