Masterton's Shona Duncan was thrilled to land her new job as the sports co-ordinator at Chanel College.
Although she won't officially finish her UCOL Wairarapa Certificate in Exercise and Sports Performance until next month, she had been "keeping an eye out" for ways to use her training.
"I have hadtraining in early childhood and wanted to branch out into using exercise with kids," she said.
Ms Duncan was thrilled to have landed the role.
The course had six people and she said most were "sorted" for work.
But not all job hunters have been so successful. A Masterton mother-of-three, who would not be named, said she had applied for at least 20 jobs over the past few months.
She had heard back from only three potential employers: "One was an interview and two were rejection letters." She had also been into Work and Income once a week to get a job sheet with no luck. "I've been actively searching for a job for two or three months now and there are none."
