They are up.
The Pou at the two main entrances to Masterton were erected yesterday with the help of a 30 tonne crane and a crew from Loaders Construction Engineering Ltd.
Featuring designs crafted in deliberately rusted metal the Pou symbols represent what the Masterton district has to offer andare to be illuminated by up-lighting for night viewing.
Masterton District Council's communications committee chair Pip Hannon said the Pou had come about as a result of widespread consultations and she hoped Masterton people liked the end result.
