Boutique Martinborough winery Alexander Vineyard has scooped two gold medals for its pinot noirs in the 2015 New Zealand International Wine Show.
More than 2100 wines were entered in the show.
The gold medals were for their Alexander Martinborough Pinot Noir 2014 and Alexander Dusty Road Pinot Noir 2014 -the only wines Alexander Vineyard submitted to the show.
Owners and winemakers Michael Finucane and Roz Walker made the two wines in their Hinakura Road winery.
Work is under way to open a small cellar door at the winery this year.
"We are delighted with the news that both our pinot noirs achieved this accolade," Ms Walker said. "The 2014 vintage was particularly good and the wines are not only looking excellent now but will continue to improve in the future."
