Q: What were you doing before accepting your new position?
A: I've recently returned to New Zealand after working in Britain for three years, and spending a few months travelling on the way home.
Q: Why did you apply for this job?
A: I worked three years for two e-learning/training companies
in London and when I saw the advert I thought this is me, I like the sound of this job.
Q: What are the major challenges ahead of you?
A: Initially to get a better understanding of the business and the industries we work with. As I get more involved in my job, to come up with ideas and solutions to improve our marketing communications to our customers and potential customers.
Q: What qualities do you bring to the job?
A: I'm a hands-on person who enjoys being involved in all aspects of a campaign. I'm a good multi-tasker and I can communicate well with people from all aspects of the business.
Q: What do you enjoy about working in marketing?
A: I enjoy the range and scope of what you can do within the marketing and communications functions. I enjoy developing and executing the marketing plan - I like working on an idea and seeing it through to the end.
Q: What does being marketing executive mean to you?
A: Taking the responsibility of managing several projects at the same time. You need to be able to prioritise tasks and be results oriented so you know what solutions work best for the next project. Having a can-do attitude is essential to be part of a successful marketing team.
Q: What else might you have done?
A: As I've just returned to New Zealand it was a good opportunity to look for a marketing role in a new industry. I've always been interested in technology companies so I probably would have gone down that path.
Q: What do you do in your spare time?
A: Currently I'm renovating my house, bike riding and when the weather gets better spending time at the beach.
