Marie Jamieson lawyers ask for more time

The man charged with murdering Auckland hairdresser Marie Jamieson appeared in Waitakere District Court today.

Joseph Reekers was arrested in Kaitaia in June, seven years after the 23-year-old woman's body was found naked behind a factory in West Auckland.

Reekers appeared fidgety as he stood in the dock, with grey hair and a thick beard and wearing a blue sweatshirt.

A pre-depositions hearing was scheduled today, but the prosecution and defence have asked for more time.

Reekers will reappear in court in October.
