Manurewa man died from medical event - police

The death of a man who died in unexplained circumstances in south Auckland last night was caused by a medical event, police say.

The man was found unconscious at a Manurewa home after emergency services were called just before 8pm.

They were unable to resuscitate him, and he died at the scene.

His death was unexplained, and an investigation was launched by police.

This morning police said a post mortem examination had established the man died of a medical event, and his death was no longer being treated as suspicious.

However, an investigation into what happened at the address in in the hours before his death will continue.
