A Wairarapa woman, convicted of the manslaughter of her four-year-old son in a high-speed car crash last year, was today ordered to seek another place to serve her community detention.
Wendy-May Connon, 40, received a community-based sentence after crashing at high speed in Wairarapa while high on cannabis with three
unrestrained children in the car. Her four-year-old son, Konrad, was killed.
While serving her sentence, police searched her home and found cannabis and instruments for using drugs in her bedroom.
Connon was convicted and asked to appear for sentence if called upon within six months, but was caught in October breaching her night time curfew.
At a High Court re-sentencing in Wellington today, Connon was told she had two weeks to find somewhere more suitable to live and serve out her community detention, or face a prison term.
The Department of Corrections had asked for the sentence to be cancelled because it said the place she was serving it was not suitable.
