Save Police are ramping up efforts to find out more about the death of a man at a commercial property in Oamaru last night.
The identity of the 47-year-old man is not being released at this stage, police said.
About 15 investigators were working alongside forensic experts and ESR scientists to
establish the movements and cause of death.
A scene examination was underway and police were working on recovering the dead man from the address.
He will then be transported to Christchurch for a post mortem examination.
