The Manawatu Gorge will remain closed today due to a rock fall.
Engineers would re-assess whether the section of State Highway 3 could be opened at 5pm today, New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) said.
Motorists can take the alternative route on Saddle Rd or Pahiatua Track.
Last week, the route
was closed when a tanker carrying animal blood crashed and dangled precipitously off the road.
Police warned low mist and fog on and around State Highway 1 between Sanson and Levin was causing conditions to be dangerous.
