Man with crossbow taken into custody in Taranaki

A man with a crossbow who had been worrying police in Taranaki is now safely locked up.

Officers were alerted to the man yesterday by a call from Oxford Road in New Plymouth.

The Armed Offenders Squad and a dog handler responded, and after a long negotiation the man was taken into custody just before 3am today.
