A 42-year-old man is due to appear in the Tauranga District Court charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The charge relates to the stabbing of a woman at the Sapphire Springs Holiday Park near Katikati about 7pm on Saturday. She received multiple stab wounds.
A police
spokesperson said early last night that the woman was in a serious condition in Tauranga Hospital. The injuries were not life threatening.
The spokesperson said the two people were guests at the camp and did not work there.
Earlier yesterday another police spokesperson said that the man and woman were known to each other.
