Man sought over attack on Invercargill student

Invercargill Police has urged members of the public to come forward with information about the assault of a female student.

Police said the student was assaulted on Leven Street, Invercargill about 3pm yesterday.

During the assault her iPhone 6 cellphone was taken.

The suspect was described as a male, possibly Maori, about 1.8 metres tall and wearing a dark puffer jacket.

The cellphone is black and is in a white plastic case with colourful patterns on the rear.
