Police have labelled the actions of a motorist caught travelling at 180km/h south of Hamilton as ridiculous.
Waikato police Senior Sergeant Damian Rangitutia said the man was stopped on the new section of the Cambridge expressway.
The man's vehicle was impounded, his licence was immediately suspended for 28 days and
he's also got himself a summons to court.
"I would say it's a ridiculous speed that potentially could put other motorists at risk," Mr Rangitutia said.
Mr Rangitutia urged people to slow down.
