Man shot in Auckland overnight

A man is being treated in hospital for gunshot wounds after an incident in south Auckland last night.

Police were called to an address Coates Cres in Panmure about 10.30pm following reports of a shooting.

A man was taken to Middlemore Hospital with gunshot wounds but they were not believed to be life-threatening, said a northern police communication shift commander.

Police are investigating and appealing for witnesses to come forward.
