Save The Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter picked up an injured crew member on board a fishing trawler.
A man has been flown to hospital after being hit by a large fish bin onboard a fishing trawler north-east of Gisborne.
The man in his 30s was seriously injured after being hit from behind by the bin on Friday night.
The Hawke's Bay Rescue Helicopter was called out to
the trawler at 6.30pm, and a St John paramedic was winched onto the vessel.
After the injured man was stablised, both were picked up by the helicopter and the man was flown to Gisborne Hospital.
