Man run over by tractor suffers critical injuries

A 49-year-old man suffered critical injuries when he was over by a tractor in northern Waikato yesterday.

The man was hit by the tractor at a Paeroa property about 1pm, Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust paramedic Russell Clark said.

"He got run over by the front wheel of the tractor.

"He had multiple injuries to his leg, chest, head and his hand."

The man was flown to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition, Mr Clark said.

Details of how he was run over were not known, he said.

A Waikato Hospital spokeswoman said the man was now in a stable condition.
