A Whangarei man was robbed at gunpoint yesterday by two men travelling in a stolen 4WD.
The men made off with several thousand dollars after they confronted an employee at Metalman NZ on Rewa Rewa Rd at 10.40am.
Police are now appealing for sightings of a grey Nissan Terrano, registration
number BPZ926, and say it was likely used by the robbers.
"The vehicle was found by police on South End Ave not far from where the robbery occurred," a Northland police spokeswoman said.
"It had been stolen from the Forum North carpark in the Whangarei CBD at about midday on Saturday."
