Man rescued from Lake Taupo

A man had to be rescued from Lake Taupo yesterday after drifting in his dinghy for several hours without power.

The Youthtown Rescue helicopter located the man about 4.40pm about 3km northeast of Motuwhara Island.

The Taupo Coastguard rescue vessel was able to tow him to safety.
