A 23-year-old man was kicked about the head until he was knocked unconscious in a fight in central Auckland early this morning.
Police said the fight broke out between two groups of males on Customs St abut 3.30am.
"During the fight a 23-year-old old man was knocked to the ground
and kicked about the head, rendering him unconscious."
The man was admitted to Auckland Hospital with a serious concussion injury.
Police said they were following strong leads in their investigation, but were still seeking any witnesses. Anyone who saw the fight is asked to contact Auckland CIB on (09) 302 6516.
