A man has died in a two-car collision between a van and vehicle on State Highway 1 in Northland.
A male passenger in a south-bound van died was killed when it collided with a vehicle travelling north through the Brynderwyns, south of Whangarei.
Other occupants of both the van andthe vehicle suffered moderate injuries and will be taken to Whangarei Hospital.
The road is closed and diversions are set up at Waipu in the north and Maungaturoto in the south.
