Man killed in fatal truck crash named by police

The man killed when a truck and ute collided in Waikato yesterday has been named by police.

He was Gregory William Brown, 43, from Karapiro.

Brown died when the ute he was driving collided with a truck on Tirau Rd, Karapiro, just before 4.30am, between Karapiro and Gorton Rds yesterday.

"Our thoughts are with Gregory's family and friends at this time," a police spokesperson said.

The crash is being investigated by the Serious Crash Unit.

It's the third fatal crash in Waikato in the past three days. A woman was killed in a crash on Tuhikaramea Rd, Temple View on Wednesday. She has been named as Lynette Keung, 72, of Temple View.

Shortly before 10.30am today a woman died in a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 5 near Tirau, between Hetherington and Webster Rds.
