Man killed by train in Manurewa

A man died after being hit by a train at the Manurewa railway station tonight.

A St John ambulance communications spokesman said staff treated the man, aged in his late teens or early 20s, for multiple injuries following the accident, which happened just after 7.30pm.

He was taken by ambulance to Middlemore Hospital where he died, police said.
