A man has been injured after a train crashed into a stationery locomotive near Wharf St in Dunedin.
The man, who was wearing high-visibility clothing, appears to have been working on the stationary locomotive when the collision happened about 5pm.
More than a dozen emergency services personnel worked to free
the man from the engine area of one of the trains.
It is unclear how he came to be trapped near the engine.
St John says the man has serious leg injuries and possibly a head injury.
