A man suffered serious injuries after he was hit by a truck near Waiouru this morning.
Police said the incident occurred about 12.15am about 6km north of the Waiouru township, in the Ruapehu District.
Firefighters and police officers administered first aid to the man before ambulances arrived, police said.
The
man sustained moderate to serious injuries and was flown to Palmerston North Hospital.
The Serious Crash Unit will be investigating.
