An investigation has been launched after reports of a mysterious explosion that has hospitalised a Stoke man.
Emergency services were called to reports of a house fire at a Tennyson Cres address in Stoke, Nelson just before 2pm.
While two appliances were en route, the Fire Service received more calls
reporting an explosion at the address.
When fire crews arrived they could not see any fire or smoke.
However, they found one person suffering "pretty bad burns", according to Fire Service southern communications shift manager Daryl Ball.
