The man accused of shooting a taxi driver in Miramar has appeared in Wellington District Court.
Police arrested Dylan Nuku overnight in Strathmore and charged him with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison.
The 26-year-old appeared before
judge Bruce Davidson who remanded him in custody until January 26.
Nuku could be seen using hand signals to communicate with people in the public gallery there to support him.
