A man has appeared in Porirua District Court charged with two counts of assault after a six month-old baby died from head injuries on Monday.
The 31 year-old man has been granted interim name suppression until Friday.
The man kept his head down for much of the appearance.
He was
remanded in custody until Friday.
An application by a media outlet to take photographs of the man was declined.
