Man found in harbour named

Police have named the man whose body was found in Wellington harbour yesterday.

He was 57-year-old Ranchhod Patel of Wellington, whose body was found near Miramar Wharf yesterday morning.

Police say the provisional results of a post-mortem examination carried out today "suggest that the man may have drowned and do not suggest foul play".

Detective Inspector Paul Basham, head of the Wellington City CIB, says police completed a scene examination yesterday and are today continuing background enquiries.
