A man was killed in a car crash in the Whangarei district.
His car ran off the road and hit a pole on Kokopu Road in Ruatangata West just after 2am.
Police said one vehicle was involved and there were no other occupants.
"It appears a car has driven off
the road and the driver has died."
The Police Serious Crash Unit is now investigating.
