Man dies after car crashes near Timaru

The sole occupant died at the scene, at the intersection of Temuka-Orari Highway and Barker Road in Winchester.

A 34-year-old man is dead after his car crashed in Winchester, north of Timaru.

Police were called to the scene, at the intersection of the Temuka-Orari Highway and Barker Rd, about 10.20pm yesterday.

The 34-year-old driver and sole occupant of the car died at the scene.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
