Man dies after being run over in Bluff port workplace accident

A man has died after he was run over by a loader at Bluff's port this morning.

Emergency services were told a worker had been seriously injured at South Port in Bluff about 1:45am after being run over by a loader.

But the 54-year-old man died a short time later.

Police are now notifying next of kin.

Victim Support services have been offered to the other staff.

Worksafe NZ is investigating and the death has been referred to the coroner.
