Man dead after Waitemata boat accident

A man is dead after his boat capsized in Auckland's Waitemata harbour yesterday.

A Coastguard spokesman told NZPA they found the man in the water after responding to reports of a boat overturning near Okahu Bay, about 5km east of downtown Auckland, yesterday afternoon.

He was pulled aboard a boat and taken to the Marine Rescue Centre where he was found to be dead.

The man has yet to be identified.
