Save A 42-year-old man is dead after he was crushed by timber at a Nelson sawmill.
Emergency services were called to Waimea Sawmillers in Annesbrook, southwest of the city centre, about 1.45pm today.
Nelson police spokeswoman Barbara Dunn said the worker was confirmed dead at the scene.
She said it was
not yet clear how the accident happened but confirmed the man had been crushed by timber.
Next of kin were yet to be notified.
