A man has been critically injured in a workplace incident in Taupō this afternoon.
A police spokesman said police were called to a Johnbrook Cres workplace around 12.50pm following reports that a person had been injured while working on a truck.
A St John spokesman said a helicopter and two ambulances were sent to the scene.
“We assessed and treated one patient who was airlifted to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition.”

WorkSafe and the Serious Crash Unit had also been notified.
A WorkSafe spokesman said WorkSafe had been notified and was making initial enquiries.
