Man charged with dragging policeman remanded in custody

A man charged after a policeman was dragged along a West Auckland road by a fleeing vehicle has been remanded in custody.

Steven John Tainui, 33, unemployed, of Te Atatu, is due to reappear in the Waitakere District Court on July 25 on seven counts arising from incidents in West Auckland on Tuesday.

They include causing injury by driving recklessly and driving while disqualified.
